Lots of Pictures

Hey family, whats up.

Right now we are in a very, very full little cyber to write. Today is
feriado (some made up holiday) and every kid and his dog are in the
cybers. this place is FULL. um lets see what happened this week. Not
much. We confirmed Andres yesterday, that was cool. He told us in
principles of the gospel class that tons of missionaries have come to
teach him, from all different types of religions. but he never felt it
was true til he talks with the guapo mormons. He has a really good
testimony and even asked to give a talk this next sunday. He is a very
old guy, 72, but is incredibly intelligent. First day i walked in he
informed me my name was from Denmark...yes dad, i already knew.

We had the baptism of someone from the ward. Her name is Mikaela. she
is a very smart little eight year old. she is the one that judges all
the R i will ever say. She was so stoked for her baptism. We taught
her all the lessons just so she d know. She has been one of my best
investigators in the mission. she understood a lot, and if she didnt
she would ask. She asked a lot of very intelligent questions. it was
fun teaching her. We eat with that family every saturday and the kids
just love us. i sent lots of pictures from the party we had sunday
night for the baptism. I made the mistake of showing them i could
juggle so they made me stand up on a car and do it while about 7
cameras took my pictures. The kids fight over who gets to wear our
name tags and than they brag that they are missionaries and call us
their younger brother...or sometimes they d call us their
grandmother...not sure why.

I had a sweet mission miracle, one that i have been wanting my whole
mission. Every week, we do 140 contacts. we try to talk about baptism
in every one but most dont get that far. but we always try to leave
them with something to do, like find their book of mormon and read, or
to pray to see if god s church is one the earth, or to just go to the
church to see what a reunion is like. My whole mission, i have wanted
one of those contacts to just go to church and it hadnt ever happened.
That is a lot of contacts over my entire mission. Well, finally, one
came. We were sitting in testimony meeting and my comp turns to me and
saws, Look who came. i looked over and saw an older lady walking in. i
said Who. and he said, You dont remember? right as he said that, i
remembered. We were walking down a street one day and decided to stop
at a house where the lady was just standing outside leaning on her
fence. we talked with her but she didnt really want to listen, she has
talked with missionaries apparently a million times. so we invited her
to church and she said she d love to see what a meeting was like in
the mormon church...everyone says this...and than we left. Well, she
came. the members did an AMAZING job. immediatly, another old member
stood up and invited the lady to sit with her. after the meeting,
everyone came up and talked with her and said hi. it was sweet.
afterwards, i asked when we could pass by her house. she said anytime,
and than she thanked me for how nice everyone was. she loved it and
told many people she was definately coming back next week. AWESOME

It is getting very hot around here. and very very humid. it rained a
ton the other day and we all just got super soaked. there was a
lightning strike somewhere in the city and EVERYBODY talked about it
all day. it was about 12 15 and we were just leaving a house. it
looked like a camara flash, two flashes in a row, and than the LOUDEST
sound i have ever heard in my LIFE!! not joking. it shook the ground.
everyone asked us if we felt it. it was cool.

alright, i cant think of more things that happened. i had a good week
tho. i love you guys. chau

Love elder christensen
