Hey fam, whats up.

How are you all doing. i m doing good. it is a very humid, cloudy day.
i down poured yesterday, which destroyed the attendance in church. We
still pulled out a few investigators tho, so that was good. when the
sacrament actually started, there was like 15 people, and no recent
converts. by the end, there was like 40 or so and 6 converts. this is
the best ward i have had for retencion. we get 6 over 8 like every
week. in barrio 14 we had like 3 or 4 over 18. crazy.

My new comp is Elder Curapil from the south of argentina. he has only
about 5 months in the mission and is a stud. We have been working a
bunch this week and have found some good people to teach. when the
ward heard that an argintino was coming, they all kinda got scared.
they dont get along too well i guess. luckily, my comp ALWAYS
introduces himself as ¨from the south of argentina¨ and the people are
all like, oh ok, thats fine. They just apparently do not like the
people from buenos aires.

We gonna have two baptisms for sure this upcoming month. one is of
this family that is super strong who was baptized earlier this year.
everyone was baptized except one of the daughters. she has always come
to church and the activities, but just never wanted to get baptized.
after lots of work and good examples from her fam and the ward, she
decided to be baptized. she set up the day and time and we were just
like...ok, no problem. than there is another girl who is the niece of
the president of the relief society. she has been taking her to church
for a long time. now the daughter of the president is turning 8, so
they want to baptize Gabriela and the daughter together. so we just
have to pass by and give the charlas.

we are hoping to get a few more next month too. we have a lot of
potencials but they are all kinda ¨loose¨ (i dont know how to say
flojo in english). like maybe they will go to church, maybe not. We
had quite a few good baptisms in the district this week too, so that
was good.

the weather is seriously crazy, more bipolar than utah. burning hot
one day to straight up stormy the next. i love when it rains tho cuz
it just floods everything.

well, i hit a year coming up soon. this week. we are planning on
burning a shirt and making some milk shakes. the milk shakes that
elder pike make are AMAZING. its ice cream with milk and than some
waffle cookie things and its seriously just like leatherbees....or
maybe i have been gone too long. i have been realizing how weak i am
getting. it happens to most missionaries. you cant really build
muscle. and this winter i was pretty lazy with like push ups and stuff
and got nice and soft. dad would always walk up and grab my arm under
the shoulder, i would casually flex and he would always say ¨ooh¨ in
that way he does. it was seriously a nice rock there. now it in super
squishy....its sad really. but thats alright, you cant tell how weak i
am in a white, collared shirt. So every person i meet still asks if i
played rugby. they are fanatics about rugby, even tho they really have
no idea what it is.

well, that is all for this week. i love you and thanks for all the
letters. i got the package...mother you DESTROYED my diet. i received
batteries, and small watch and the rest was food. thats alright, i
shared a lot with the members. no one has ever had REAL starbursts,
recess peanut butter, or beaf jerky. they all loved it.

love you guys, chau

oh ya, the picturs. a couple are of me and castañeda and than one with
a very uncooraportive dog. than the others are of elder betancourt and
when i met George W Bush (the drawing one...)
