So after a month in Argentina, one of my district members brought up the question, Where is the moon? And oh my gosh, it was no where to be found! How weird is that, no moon and no stars..ever. But than, a few nights ago i was laying in bed (at like 10 35 or so) and we heard fireworks. So i decided to get up and investigate (no i was not breaking rules, i was gettin out of bed to see if i could quiet things down for the other elders smiley face). I got to the window, and to my disappointment, we couldnt see the fireworks. I was about to close the curtains when there it was, the beautiful, glowing, banana shaped heavenly sphere. So i hauled out of the room and about 4 seconds later hurried back in with my ENTIRE district following me. All 6 or so of us tried crowding around this window to get our first glance at the moon in Argentina. (but the bipolar moon has been in that spot all week so i get to see it every night now.) Still havnt seen a star yet tho.
For my entire life i have been under the notion that if a piece of your clothing has a single thread hanging off it, you pull it right? just til the thread pulls thru or it breaks off, right? WRONG! i have done this my whole life and it never bit me in the bit til this week. It was down by my ankle, the hem or something, and i just inocently pulled. Well i pulled, and pulled, and pulled, but it never broke. Than all the sudden the bottom thing fell down! i dont know if you under stand any of this cuz i dont know fancy sewing words. So this week, i took a very crazy lesson on sewing. I sewed up the hem all the way around the ankle ( it took FOR EVER) and than i had to fix a couple of pocket things and a belt loop thing. Mom, did we buy super cheap pants? cuz these things are falling apart.
It was funny tho cuz on our small p day on sunday (like an hour and a half) i was sewing, Elder Reynolds was polishing shoes, and Elder Dahle was finding pictures to cut out from a magazine. We were all just talking about home and stuff from before...much like what we imagine a female sleep over to be. Kinda weird.
I dont know whats its like for you guys at home, but it does NOT look anything like christmas here. I dont even know how many days til christmas! Plans changed for christmas tho. Thursday i will be going to Proseletismo and Wednesday i will be writing. Saturday we have like a bunch of devotionals and stuff and we are going caroling. Should be weird but fun.
Not much has happened around here. Learning tons o' spanish and gospel and all sorts of stuff. I love it here. but i cant wait to leave in like a week and a half! its gone by ridiculously fast. I love you all, have a great Christmas!
Love always, Elder Christensen
