Christmas!! Who doesnt love the good old holiday. i know i do. So this Christmas was CRAZY! lets start at X mas Eve...
We put on a play thing about some fur tree and we all had parts. I was the toad, it was pretty fun. After that, we had a little time to kill so people got up and shared a christmas tradition. I didnt share one but i had one planned if it came to me. I thought about that christmas when i got the game NBA Tip off 2003 for PS1. i was so excited. We ran downstairs and were going through our stockings when we got a phone call. This call ruined my entire christmas. It was star calling from her mission. I had to wait the LONGEST hour of my life to open my gifts. Worst. Christmas. Ever! But dont worry, i am over it. But than it was very sad cuz i couldnt call this christmas....i may have gotten teary eyed. But dont worry, christmas got much better.
We all gathered in the kitchen around the pushed together tables (the cooks had left tons of goodies and drinks for us). Everyone at the CCM sang christmas songs. The americans would sing english, than the latinos a spanish, and it just kept going back and forth. It was SOOO much fun. We sang jingle bells, rudolf, feliz navidad, deck the halls and much more, and we sang them at the top of our lungs.
Is anyone aware of the christmas tradition in argentina is. At midnight, EVERYONE in the country lights off fireworks for 2 hours. I am not talking about sparklers or lil flowers. Presidente made it clear to have lights our after 10 30, but kinda hinted that you just need to stay in bed. So we pushed the bunkbed up against the window and partied. We bought some sprite, alfahores, and other candy at proseletismo and had a little party. There was about 7 people squeezed on the bed looking our the window. Than it began. You know the finale from murray park we see every year, imagine that happened 15 times across the sky line we could see out side our window!!!! It was incredible! It was so super loud and bright and just awesome. They dont have laws against fireworks, so it was tiiiiiiight!!! We should adopt this tradition in America.
The next morning we woke up to a new breakfast. Every morning since we have been here, we got cereal and rolls. Christmas tho....WE GOT FRENCH TOAST! it was soooo good. We than went up to the room and exchanged presents thru out our district. I gave elder reynolds some rubber duckies. I got a little finger skateboard and a bakugan! Pretty sweet! Later on christmas, we went caroling which was way fun too.
All in all, it was a VERY good christmas. You dont realize how much you would miss your family til they arent there. So i learned some lessons from this. But it was probably my best christmas ever!
Tomorrow (at 5 in the freakin morning) we leave to uruguay. HOW CRAZY! If you guys want, you can stay up til 12 and at midnight you can say hey, cody is just waking up. My p day will be on mondays in the mish. So dont forget to e mail me. I will probably have a billion stories to tell by than. Be praying for me and i will pray for you! Love you guys!
Love Elder Christensen
