It came and went....

Hello family!

So it was very very fun talking to you all, i loved it. skype was
really cool cuz i got to talk to everyone at once and see everyone
too. Annie is the same, but ellie is super big and sounds EXACTLY how
annie did. and no i was not lying, i could not understand ellie at
all! she might be how i was when i was a kid...un-understandable. but
thats alright, i had lots of fun.

Christmas still feels like it never came. It is SOOOO different here
than home. its hot, the traditions are different, no lights, no songs.
nothing. Alright songs yes, many different versions of Feliz Navidad
sang by us off key missionaries...and we only knew the corrus. This
was the first week of my mission where we got ALL thhe contacts done
before sunday, cuz we knew everyone would be drunk or drinking.
Saturday in the afternoon, we visited a bunch of cool member families
and than at night went to ones house for a big barbeque. At midnight,
we got on the roof of our 4 story building and watched the sweet
firework show. And remember, we are in a city of only one story
houses, so we saw EVERYTHING. People spend way to much money on this
holiday just on fireworks, but it makes it cool for us. On the street
infront of us, they were launching off big ones(the ones you see at
the 4 of july). The wind was just perfect enough to blow them directly
over our heads, about 30 feet higher. crazy!!! It wasnt like argentina
tho. there, two straight hours of non stop firing. here, they made it
til about 12 25. but still way cool.

We woke up for church, santa did NOT come, and surprisingly many
actually went. The city was absoluetly dead!! like dead dead. no body
anywhere! For lunch, we all went to the zone leaders and had a
barbique in their backyard. All meat. we did not want to waste space
with like rice or potatoes or nothing. i ate stake and two
chorizos...super good. Than we all sang the sons of provo songs really
loud. After, we visited a couple of members who did have much to do
for christmas. Also, i found out that contacts arent all that hard to
do on christmas cuz the people just come straight up to you telling
you how cool you are. But off course they are drunk. Than, we
excitedly went over to talk with the fam. The excitement never
actually hit me til we were walking over there. Than i was just super
excited, and the computer took forever to turn on. than we were trying
to test the microphone and stuff and all the suddon somebody called
us! i asked my comp, what do i do?? ANSWER IT! haha so i did. So we
all got home and just talked about how trunky we now are. haha

And that was christmas. i still dont feel like christmas came. i guess
it ll just show up in December of 2012...if the world dont end the 22
or whatever. But i enjoyed it a lot. it was one of the only holidays
where i wasnt checking my watch wondering what you guys were doing. it
was just super busy so it was easier. it was a very fun holiday and i
have lots to catch up on.

We got a baptism coming up, Saturday. i am excited. after that, we
need to find people!! we are out. but me and curapil have actually had
lots of success here, by far my favorite area. I guess all i can say
is that i am loving life. Love you all,

Love Elder Cody Christensen

p.s. why did you all call me Cody yesterday...it really confused me :)
