actually nice and cool nowadays.
Has anyone ever heard of the Wachieturros? i really hope that you
havent. If you havent, dont go looking them up either. There is a type
of music (if you can call it music) call Cumbia. it is horrible and
boring but very popular. There is a teenage band from argentina that
are HUGE down here. you can walk thru the streets and at every corner
you hear someone´s bad speakers blaring it. Well, this weekend, they
came to Trinidad for a concert. Talk about a dead sunday. Everyone was
either sleeping or at the stinking park! So that made for a very
interesting week end.
But this week was good. We found quite a few new people to teach. My
oro is doing good, he is a stud. He really has a desire to teach and
work (did i tell you he is almost 25) so he is pretty mature and knows
why he is here.
Other fun parts of the week. We went to the zoo of the future. it was
a really weird idea but it made sense. They had lots of metal
sculpturs (ya i dont know how to spell it) of animals cuz they say man
will kill them all. It was interesting. But at the end, the guy who
was with us, a member, told us to look around. We were in the middle
of the country but everything you could see was of man. Farms and
crops and everything. nothing natural.
Today, we are going to the animal reserve with that same member (he is
a really cool less active we found and he wife isnt a member. we are
gonna baptize her...or at least that is the idea.)
And the last cool thing i can think of from this week was the merry go
round thingy that turns really fast like the tea cups. At 6, we have
been waking up to go play soccer and get a bit of exercise. We found
the spinning thing and had lots of fun. imagine, 4 grown men at 6 15
in the morning spinning super fast in one of those, sceaming, crying,
yelling, and laughing. it was lots of fun. the camaras of today are
too good and can capture the spinning so it looks like its not even
spinning...the pictures do not give it justice. we were hauling!
But our favorite thing to do while we are in there is to thro the
soccer ball to each other. You lightly slow it straight up and it
instantly flies to the left and hits the next guy over in the chest
really hard. We than repeat it and it goes in a circle. We dont like
riding in it anymore, it makes us all sick. but it is super fun :)
