So Much to Talk About!!!

So much to talk about!!

First of all, it is freakin sick being comps with reynolds. this area
was very weak before and had a series of a lot of truchos (fake)
missionaries. it sucks. but were working hard and stuff. reynolds has
me doing lot of work outs and stuff too so that is good.

I was very content at that the weekly e mail we got from the pres. it
says all the numbers and stuff. and MARISOL GOT BAPTIZED. you have no
idea how freakin sweet that is.

Rained a huge huge huge rain storm sunday. woke up in the night with
(no exageration) the loudest thunder i have ever heard. Rain on sunday
means that not many in church.

Saturday night, our bishop walked up to us and asked for two 15 minute
talks the next day. he is a very good man...and i will try not ragging
on anything...but you understand. So we gave two sick great talks. the
bad part is that NO ONE listened. everything was just off in their own
worlds. we walked home after with a family for lunch and the lady was
like...where are you from? answered that in my talk. how long do you
have? oh, same time as your comp. (also in my talk) did you know each
other in the mtc (wow) where have you been in uruguay? i thought the
next question was gonna be like what did you talk on today??

I got very humbled this week. Drugs are so bad and hurt so many lives.
In my life, i was somehow very lucky to not once be around them or be
offered them. there is a lot here. So we found this family, such a fn
litle family. Dian is 27 and was on drugs for forever. he quit and
really neeed our help. he is like a big kid. he wanted to be baptized
and went to the stake b day party and everything. his mom is always
super worried abou him tho. he has two cousins too. Dilan and Facundo,
like 10 and 7. i love them so much. But saturday, we were gonna pick
them up and take them to the party. they werent there at the time we
had planned. we looked for like a half hour and nothing worked. so we
went to the church. they showed up like an hour late.
they loved it so much and they were really getting to know the people.
As we walked him home, he kept saying he wanted to go see his dad. We
said, no its late, we cant go with you, your mom wont want you going.
we show up to the house and he tells his mom and she says no. he
started freakin out. After arguing and stuff, he went out the back
way. they sent me to talk with him. so i went out the front and caught
him. i had no idea what to say, i just prayed for something that would
stop him. he came around the corner and just said, No elder! dont even
try....i just said the first thing i could think of.

How did you feel in the church with the spirit.

I felt amazing!......than he broke out into tears......I am going to see my dad!

i said, dont you want that always! that feeling!

all he said was yes.

He than walked out of the yard and the mom hasnt heard from him since.
he was not going to see his dad. he was going to get drugs. and i am
guessing he probably sold the book of mormon to buy them........

the mom told us the whol story after. this drug is killing him, you
physically cannot stop. people will sell anything from anywhere for
just like a dollar so they can buy more. it is the worst, most freakin
dirty, drug here. Drugs ruin lives, hurt families, hurt people, and
there is almost nothingthe people can do.

This family is so down hill and i do not know how to help. the lady
works for feria which is like swat meets every week. The son has sold
all her stuff and even here cart that she carried it in. How can i
help. i have prayed so much for them. i hope the situation improves. I
have been suffieciently humbled by this experience...........

Hard times but good. love you guys.

Love elder christensen

ok so the pictures. the first is a family from minas. the mom is
margarita. the older son looking is the bro in law named santiago. the
wife is diana. the two kids are angel and federico...angel is the
older one.

than the old lady is marisol. lol she was sick and not looking her
best, but i was looking my best so its all good.
