New Companion

i was just about to push the send button, but than i remembered
mothers day. than i was about to put it at the end, but mom would
probably have a heart attack. ok. so i dont know when you can call cuz
all this cambio stuff going on this week. so they will tell us in the
middle of the week and i will e mail you the times.

So we got our change calls last night. it was pretty for sure that i
was staying. but than we got news that one person from minas will be
leaving. so it had to be my comp or one other guy who has been here 3
changes. turned out to be my comp. he is going to somewhere in
Canelones. my new comp is named elder valazquez...i think....from
ecuador. i know nothing about him really. he has about a year in the
mission. it ll be nice to always be speaking spanish, it will help a
lot.

So we have goals of 140 contacts a week. easily achievable. but
sometimes we get behind and we call it make up sunday. well yesterday
we had to make up 37. not too bad. and the whole last two weeks, we
have not had one person let us in on a contact. so we thought we would
just speed thru them and go find some of our investigators. well, the
lord decided to bless us and had 5 families let us in in a row!! so
crazy. picked up a bunch of new people to teach and than we had to
rush to finish our contacts. que crazy es.

Cant believe this cambio is already over. i have 3 under my belt now.
oh, and i hit six months this last week. i didnt burn a tie. but we
had a massive fire. i love fire. did you see those logs that we start.
that is impressive huh! and those fires get hot. i had an intercambio
with my district leader and it rained, so we started a nice big ol
fire. at 10 30, he wanted to put it out cuz he was scared it would
roll out. i had the four big logs sideways and not on top of each
other so there was no way they would. but whatever, we put it out.
took A LOT of water. half way thru the night it was blazing again.
haha fires are impressive cuz even if you soak them, they just burn it
off and catch on fire again. houses must be hard to put out than.

Geez, nothing has happened. i will have a new comp tomorrow. but
everything else will be exactly the same. oh one more thing. when the
hermanas were here before us (like 6 months ago) they let the lunchs
die. no one fed them. so me and my comp got it all super organized and
everything this whole last month in preparation for may. it is all
organized and we have lunchs for the next 2 weeks! almost the entire
month is filled...and just in time for him to not enjoy any of it. i
will enjoy it tho.

oh, one last thing. we talk a lot about how utahns talk, apparently
pretty bad lol. like cran and moutan. (mountain) but also i say pill
instead of peel like for a banana and we have a disagreement on how to
say pull. he says it like pole but i say it like pool. which is it.
dang arkansasans. oh and also, fill as in how do you fill (feel). How
do you guys all talk)
