Conference

dear family.
conference was a-freakin-mazing. its like one giant party down here
for them. all the missionaries get super excited and we all get
together in a little room to watch it in english. we all await the
spiritual moments, laugh at the jokes, and go ouch to all the cane
dropagges. did you hear the one about tithing from elder ballard.
something about hell fire and damnation. it was a good from for south
america (smiley face).
you guys do not know how freakin close i actually was to be in a
general conference talk, do you. for the priesthood session, elder
anderson talked about missionaries. he said he loved meeting
missionaries from all around the world....wait, i met elder anderson
in argentina, that is part of the world!! than he said, i was recently
in........i held my breath........Austraulia. me and elder lythgoe
both jump out of our seats. dang! (he also was in the mtc when we met
anderson). i was THIIIIIIS close to fulfilling my dream of getting
into a conference talk. dang. Yes mom, i did notice the guy who served
in this mission...the whole church cheered when he announced it. also,
one of the speakers in the first session is from paysandu, uruguay.
There were two locals in our room cuz they spoke english and they new
him. Also, there is a 70 named Gaverett...i think that is how it is
spelled. Anyone want to guess where he is from. Minas Uruguay. i
actually met his parents in laws. He didnt speak this conference but i
think he did the last one.
i can t believe conference is over already! the 10 hours went
incredibly, incredibly fast. it was super fun. we all awaited our
favorite speakers. mine have got to be monson, bednar, uchtdorf, and
of course, holland. i think every missionaries favorite is holland. he
drops cane so much on us, i dont know why we keep going back. but we
all waited to hear from him. after the first few sessions we were
like, when is he gonna speak. than the last session came. ok, we
thought, he has got to speak this session. usually they do 6 speakers
and the prophets opens or they do they auditing and stuff, but usually
6. the first 3 speakers were done and they just did the song. they
than announced 3 speakers,....and none were holland! ALL five
missionaries in that room jumped to their feet. some throwing their
hands to the sky, others using their hands to burry their weeking face
in. how could holland not speak!!!!! than eyring, after what seemed
like the longest pause of a moment ever, announced a fourth speaker
before the prophet closed, and halle freakin luia it was holland. God
is a god of miracles todavia. i love you guys and am sending two
letters this week.
