Hello family,
what to say this week? not much has changed. The time is literally
flying. It has been hot. hotter than all the former times that i have
complained! no joke. it is just a constant sweat. we usually take
three quick showers every day. morning, lunch and night. Lots of
times, i dont even feel hot (or maybe my nerves are just too burnt)
and i just sweat. it looks like we just got out of the shower in our
tracting clothes. the people are nice tho. sometimes they open the
door and see us and are concerned for our health. But, finally, it
rained today. and oh buddy did it ever. last night was the coolest
light show i have even seen with the loudest thunder ever. The power
in our house went out 3 or 4 times when thunder would strike. it was
cool! but it made it really hot and hard to sleep. The rain was
incredible and still is going on outside. it sucks tho cuz today we
had a super sweet activity planned for the missionaries and
investigators. we were going to a park and were gonna have games and
soccer and eat a pig. Yup, we bought a whole pig! but....its is
pouring so we had to move it to the church. not sure how many people
will show up now....and not sure how many games we are going to play.
We showed up at 8 this morning for the activity. We went in taxi cux
its far and raining. we get out and woops...we forgot something.
Nothing at home or anything...just the mormon standard time. so we are
locked out of the church with ONE umbrella holding balls to play with,
plates, forks, and cups, and all our backpacks. so we frantically ran
around trying to find a key. Finally we get one, and show up while the
other key showwed up. Yup, we had gotten quite wet. But what can you
do. If it rains, we are soaked. if not, we sweat and are soaked and
stinky...count your blessing??
The work is still hard. My comp is a really good worker and we get
along decently in the streets. We got change calls last night but all
four of us are staying the same. I have now been with a latino for 6
straight months. they say m y spanish has gotten better so i guess its
good. I cannot believe 6 weeks have passed by since that e mail saying
i trained.
I am excited about the trip...not trunky...but it should be really
fun. The familia Pereira is now facebook stalking all of you. haha. we
go over for meeting or to see who we eat with and they are always on
facebook looking you crazy americans up. its funny cuz they put the
posts into google translate to see what it says....it doesnt work the
best most times. but its funny.
Well, i think thats about all. i have pictures but i forgot my card
reader so you ll have to wait til next week. Love you all and thank
you for the e mails. Have a good week.
Love elder cody
